Rams Shutout CCNY in Non-Conference Match

Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's tennis team defeated CCNY 9-0 this afternoon in a non-conference match in Farmingdale, N.Y. The Rams improved to 5-2 on the year, while CCNY fell to 2-9.

In first doubles, sophomore's Chris Hunter (Melville, N.Y.) and Tyler Danzy (Central Islip, N.Y.) paired for an 8-0 victory. Sophomore Marvin Beaubrun (Farmingdale, N.Y.) and junior Kevin Palacios (Glen Cove, N.Y.) also carded an 8-0 win in the second position, while freshmen Karuppiah Karuppiah (Trichy, India) and Aravind Mahalingam (Hyderabad, India) recorded an 8-1 victory at #3 doubles.

In singles competition, Hunter (6-1, 6-1), Palacios (6-1, 6-1), junior Dan Baruch (East Meadow, N.Y.) (6-0, 6-0), freshman Daniel Kafka (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) (6-1, 6-0), freshman Joseph Drago (Bronx, N.Y.) (6-0, 6-0) and freshman Patrick Madigan (Sayville, N.Y.) (6-0, 6-2) all tallied points for the Rams.

Farmingdale State next will head to Purchase for a Skyline Conference match on Friday, April 10th at 3:30 p.m.
