Rams Blank Sarah Lawrence in Conference Opener

Queens, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's tennis team earned a 9-0 victory over Sarah Lawrence in their first conference match of the season at the Alley Pond Tennis Center this afternoon.

In doubles, freshman Andy Bentz (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) and sophomore Daniel Kafka (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) recorded an 8-6 win in the #1 position. At second doubles, the pair of Dan Baruch (East Meadow, N.Y.) and Kevin Palacios (Glen Cove, N.Y.) earned at 8-1 victory, while Joseph Drago (Bronx, N.Y.) and Patrick Madigan (Sayville, N.Y.) also won 8-1 in the third slot.

In singles, Bentz (7-5, 6-0), Palacios (6-2, 6-1), Kafka (6-1, 6-0), Baruch (6-1, 6-0), Drago (6-0, 6-0) and freshman Josh Kaplan (Greenlawn, N.Y.) (6-1, 6-1) all tallied wins for Farmingdale State (4-2, 1-0).

The FSC men's tennis team next will host Brooklyn in a non-conference match on Wednesday, April 6th at 4:30 p.m.
