FSC Blanks Sage; Improves to 2-0 in Skyline

Syosset, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's tennis team shutout Sage, 9-0, in a Skyline Conference match on Saturday. The Rams improved to 6-2 overall and 2-0 in conference play with the win.

At first doubles, freshman Andy Bentz (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) and sophomore Daniel Kafka (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) recorded an 8-2 victory for Farmingdale State. In the second position, seniors Kevin Palacios (Glen Cove, N.Y.) and Dan Baruch (East Meadow, N.Y.) tallied an 8-1 win, while sophomore Joseph Drago (Bronx, N.Y.) and junior Marvin Beaubrun (Farmingdale, N.Y.) won with the same score at third doubles.

The Rams cruised through singles play with all six competitors winning in two sets. Bentz (6-0, 6-0), Palacios (6-1, 6-1), Baruch (6-0, 6-0), Drago (6-0, 6-0), freshman Josh Kaplan (Greenlawn, N.Y.) (6-0, 6-0) and sophomore Patrick Madigan (Sayville, N.Y.) (6-0, 6-0) recorded victories in the one through six positions, respectively.

The men's tennis team will now travel to St. Joe's-Brooklyn this afternoon for a Skyline match beginning at 3:00 p.m.
