Rams Fall in Road Match at Purchase

Purchase - 7, Farmingdale State - 2

Purchase, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's tennis team traveled to Purchase for their first Skyline Conference match on Wednesday afternoon and fell, 7-2. The Rams dropped to 2-3 overall and 0-1 in the Skyline, while the Panthers improved to 3-1, 1-1.

The Panthers recorded points at first and second doubles but FSC won in the third position as Josh Kaplan (Greenlawn, N.Y.) and Elijah McCall (West Babylon, N.Y.) tallied an 8-6 win over James Ham (Rye, N.Y.) and Noah Marthaller (Canadaigua, N.Y.)

In singles competition, sophomore Zachary Baker (Carmel, N.Y.) earned a 7-5, 3-6, 14-12 victory in the #1 position. Purchase recorded wins in the five other singles matches to close out the 7-2 Skyline Conference victory.

The Rams next will travel to Western Connecticut State for a non-conference match on Friday, March 31st at 3:30 p.m.
