Rams Blank Pratt in Non-Conference Match

Farmingdale State - 9, Pratt - 0

Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's tennis team shutout non-conference opponent Pratt Institute, 9-0, this morning in Farmingdale, N.Y. With the victory, the Rams earned their first win and improved to 1-2 on the season, while Pratt fell to 0-5.

At first doubles, junior Elijah McCall (West Babylon, N.Y.) and sophomore Colby Rodriguez (Huntington Station, N.Y.) recorded an 8-3 win, while sophomore Michael Iorio (Massapequa, N.Y.) and freshman Mario Contreras (Southold, N.Y.) posted an 8-0 victory in the second position. Farmingdale State won the third doubles match via forfeit.

In singles, senior Bradley Maslak (Middle Island, N.Y.) (7-5, 6-1), sophomore Chris Molchan (Mattituck, N.Y.) (6-0, 6-0), Contreras (6-0, 6-0) and Iorio (6-0, 6-0) each earned wins in the first through fourth positions, respectively. Pratt forfeited the #5 and #6 singles matches as the Rams recorded the 9-0 non-conference victory.

Farmingdale State next will host Skyline opponent St. Joseph's-L.I. on Tuesday, April 2nd at 4:00 p.m.
