Baker Remains Undefeated as Rams Earn Victory Over Western Connecticut

Farmingdale State - 7, Western Connecticut - 2

Farmingdale, N.Y. - Freshman Mark Baker (North Baldwin, N.Y.) improved to a perfect 4-0 in both singles and doubles as the Farmingdale State men's tennis team earned a 7-2 victory over non-conference opponent Western Connecticut on Thursday afternoon.

In doubles, Baker and sophomore Steven Gaudio (Miller Place, N.Y.) recorded an 8-0 victory in the #1 position. The pair has allowed only four total points in their four doubles matches this season. In the third slot, FSC's (3-2) Bradley Maslak (Middle Island, N.Y.) and Chris Molchan (Mattituck, N.Y.) tallied an 8-3 win as the Rams notched 2-of-3 points in doubles play.

Farmingdale State earned five points in singles competition as Baker (6-3, 6-2), Gaudio (6-7, 6-3, 1-0 (11-9)), Daniel Kafka (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) (6-0, 6-0), Maslak (6-1, 6-0) and Cooper Everett (Long Beach, N.Y.) (6-1, 6-1) all won their matches.

Next up for Farmingdale State is a non-conference match versus Hunter College at the USTA Center on Saturday, April 6th at noon.
