Rams Defeat MSMC; Earn Seventh Straight Victory

Farmingdale State - 8, Mount Saint Mary - 1

Newburgh, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's tennis team traveled to Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh, N.Y. for a Skyline Conference match on Tuesday evening and earned an 8-1 victory. FSC has won seven straight matches and improved to 7-2 overall and 4-1 in conference play.

The Rams claimed 2-of-3 points in doubles competition. The freshmen pairing of Mark Baker (North Baldwin, N.Y.) and Malik Bass (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) defeated MSMC's (8-3, 3-3) Chris Mcgorty (Bellmore, N.Y.) and Jaden Tiriolo (Cheshire, Conn.) 8-2 in the #1 position, while FSC's Colby Rodriguez (Huntington Station, N.Y.) and Elijah McCall (West Babylon, N.Y.) recorded an 8-1 win over Joe Ryan (Wantagh, N.Y.) and David Gonzalez (Middletown, N.Y.) in the third slot.

Farmingdale State swept the singles matches as Baker (6-1, 6-3), Steven Gaudio (Miller Place, N.Y.) (6-4, 6-1), Daniel Kafka (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) (6-4, 3-6, 1-0 (11-9)), Bass (6-1, 6-1), Cooper Everett (Long Beach, N.Y.) (6-2, 6-0) and McCall (6-0, 6-2) all carded wins in the first through sixth positions, respectively.

FSC next will head to Brooklyn College for a non-conference match later today at 4:00 p.m.
