
Indoor Track Competes in Gotham Cup

New Balance Track & Field Center
Manhattan, N.Y. - The men's and women's indoor track team ran at the NYC Gotham Cup on Friday, January 16th at the New Balance Track and Field Center in Manhattan, N.Y. Sophomore Qasim Ellis (Farmingdale, N.Y./Farmingdale) improved on his ECAC Long Jump Qualifying mark with a leap of 6.86m (22'6"). Qasim currently ranks 5th on the ECAC List and 7th on the Farmingdale All-Time Top 10 list. Qasim is also a National provisional qualifier in the Triple Jump and #3 on the ECAC List.
Freshman Joe Scher (Franklin Square, N.Y./H.F. Carey) placed 6th in the 60m Dash Finals in 7.02, the same time he posted in the Trials. Joe is currently tied for the lead on the ECAC 55m Dash list with a 6.34 performance.
Senior Earl Noel (Yonkers, N.Y./Saunders) placed 10th in the Finals of the 60m High Hurdles in 8.67. Earl posted an 8.63 in the trials.
