Sophomores Shine at New Balance Games
- Brown, Jones and Magee among top DIII finishers -
Manhattan, N.Y. - A small contingent of our men's and women's indoor track teams competed with some of the top collegiate and open athletes at this past weekend's New Balance Games at the New Balance Track & Field Center in Manhattan, N.Y.
Sophomore Ed Brown (Bay Shore, N.Y./Bay Shore) placed 16th in the championship 35-pound Weight Throw with a toss of 16.39m (54' 1 1/4"). This was a personal best for Ed and bettered his previous #2 on the All-Time list.
Sophomore Donnell Jones (Brooklyn, N.Y./Valley Stream Central) placed 15th in the collegiate Long Jump with a mark of 6.79m (22' 2"). Donnell was the top Division III jumper in the event.
Sophomore Corine Magee (Mastic, N.Y./William Floyd) was the top Division III runner in the collegiate 200m with a time of 26.11.
The Rams will compete next at the Collegiate Track Conference Championship on Saturday, February 12th at Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut.
