Ewa Highlights for Rams at Atlantic Regionals

Ithaca, N.Y. - Senior Jyaire Ewa (Rochdale, N.Y.) claimed the Atlantic Regional Championship in the Weight Throw as he broke his own school record with a toss of 18.14m (59' 6.25") on his fourth throw of the day. The Rams competed in the Regionals, hosted by Ithaca College, on March 2-3. The men's team finished in 12th of 23 scoring teams.

Ewa's throw topped his record from 2017 by 3/4" to take 1st in the event of 19 competitors. He now ranks 19th in the nation for the weight throw.

Senior Idowu Bamisile (Brooklyn, N.Y.) finished in 5th place for the 60m Hurdles. Bamisile ran an 8.26 in the preliminaries, breaking his own school record by .06 seconds, before running an 8.40 in the finals. He is now ranked 23rd in Division III for the hurdles.

Junior Philip Sellitto (Levittown, N.Y.) recorded a 6th place finish in the 400m with a time of 50.69.

The 4x200m Relay team of sophomore Joseph Motis (Massapequa, N.Y.), senior Nikola Georgiev (Kings Park, N.Y.), Philip Sellitto and Idowu Bamisile placed 4th overall with a time of 1:32.10. These four also ran the 4x400m Relay and finished in 7th place (3:23.84).

Sophomore Samantha Polluci (Bay Shore, N.Y.) finished 10th in the 200m (26.77) and 13th in the 60m (8.05).
