New York, N.Y. - Farmingdale State junior Justin Percival (Melville, N.Y.) set the school record in the 60m at the Armory Last Chance Meet on Friday as the men's indoor track team took 17th place out of 43.
Percival recorded a runner-up finish in the 60m in a FSC-best time of 6.85 which surpassed Deshaun Thomas' mark of 6.86 set in 2010. Percival is now in third place on the NCAA Division III National Qualifying List for the 60m.
In the 200m, freshman Denzel Green Wright (Central Islip, N.Y.) placed eighth of 96 in 22.47 and is tied for seventh on the Farmingdale State All-Time List. Also in the 200m, senior teammate Philip Sellitto (Levittown, N.Y.) finished 21st with a time of 22.97. Wright and Sellitto both tied for 17th of 54 competitors in the 400m with times of 51.02.
Freshman Joshua Green (Shelter Island, N.Y.) notched a 10th place finish (1:59.56) in the 800m, while junior Markhus Obas (Wheatley Heights, N.Y.) took fifth in the weight throw and improved his #5 distance on the FSC All-Time List with a toss of 15.29m. In the shot put, junior Blake Borghard (Northport, N.Y.) finished in ninth place with a distance of 11.78m (38' 7.75").
For the women in the 60m, sophomore Danielle Losquadro (Bethpage, N.Y.) and junior Nazira Bah-Traore (Wheatley Heights, N.Y.) each improved their marks on the FSC All-Time List. Losquadro (8.52) improved the #6 time, while Bah-Traore (8.93) bested her previous finish at #10 all-time. Freshman Amira Kemp (Copiague, N.Y.) finished the 60m hurdles in 10.14 which improved her #4 mark on the FSC All-Time List, while sophomore Marina Magoulas' (Islip, N.Y.) toss of 13.34m (43' 9.25") earned her an 11th place finish in the weight throw and improved her #3 distance in the school record books.
Farmingdale State next will compete in the Atlantic Regional held at Ithaca College on Friday, March 1st and Saturday, March 2nd.
