Sam Howell Princeton Invitational

@ Princeton University

Princeton, NJ

The Outdoor Track team traveled to Princeton University on April 8th – 9th for the Sam Howell Princeton Invitational meet, their second meet of the season. Freshman Ian Morgan (Amityville, NY/Amityville) placed third in the 100m Dash (10.82) and placed seventh in the 200m in 21.74. Both are ECAC and NCAA Division III Provisional Qualifying performances. Morgan now joins teammate Andre Brown in the NCAA Championships in Waverly, Iowa on May 26-28th and joins seven teammates for the ECAC’s in Springfield, Massachusetts on May 19-20th. Morgan also combined with Kenny Adams (Spring Valley, NY/Ramapo), Nyakeh Charley (Mt. Vernon, NY/Stepinac) and Reuben Hairston (Freeport, NY/Freeport) to place fifth in the 4x100m Relay in 43.40. This betters the previous ECAC Qualifying time that was set at the Christopher Newport meet on April 2nd. Ian completed the day by running 48.76 on the 4x400m Relay. Morgan is now fifth on the All-Time 200m Farmingdale list and seventh on Farmingdale’s All-Time 100m list.

Other notable performances:

Ian Lovergie – High Jump, 7th place, 1.90m (6’ 2 ¾”) – ECAC Qualifier

Shane Smith – Pole Vault, 8th place, 4.42 (13’ 11 ¼”); and 50.04 on 4x400m Relay
