Skyline Releases Cross Country Report #4
- Melissa Bonilla named Rookie of the Week, Sean Tiernan named
Co-Runner of the Week -
Clifton Park, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference
released the fourth Cross Country report for the 2009 season this
afternoon, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor
Roll and Conference statistics.
Freshman Melissa Bonilla (Massapequa Park, N.Y./Farmingdale) was
named the Skyline Rookie of the Week for the women. Bonilla placed
16th individually at the Wesleyan College Invitational with a
personal-best time of 22:25.22 on the 5K course. Bonilla’s
time was 1:01 faster than her time at the C.W. Post Invitational
two weeks before. She was the top finisher for the Rams in the
field of 46 runners, helping Farmingdale to a third-place finish.
Sophomore Sean Tiernan (Staten Island, N.Y./Tottenville) was
named a Co-Runner of the Week for the men. Tiernan ran a personal
best time of 27:43.58, finishing seventh out of 37 competitors at
the Wesleyan Invitational. Tiernan improved his time by 1:34 from
the C.W. Post Invitational two weeks ago.
