Skyline Releases Cross Country Report #8

- Sean Tiernan named Runner of the Week, Melissa Bonilla named Co-Rookie of the Week, Sean Daly named to Honor Roll


Clifton Park, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the eighth Cross Country report for the 2009 season this afternoon, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics.

Sophomore Sean Tiernan (Staten Island, N.Y./Tottenville) was named Skyline Conference Runner of the Week for the men. Tiernan captured the individual title and led the Rams to a first place team finish at the St. Joseph's College Invitational. He led the field of 92 competitors, with a winning time of 28:32 on the 8K course. As a team, Farmingdale State runners finished 1st, 2nd and 3rd individually.

Freshman Melissa Bonilla (Massapequa Park, N.Y./Farmingdale) was named Skyline Conference Co-Rookie of the Week for the women. Bonilla finished in seventh place individually out of 95 runners at the St. Joseph's Invitational. She finished the course in 23:03, only five seconds behind the top Skyline runner.

Sophomore Sean Daly (Lindenhurst, N.Y./Lindenhurst) was named to the Skyline Conference Honor Roll. Daly was the runner-up at the SJC Invitational, finishing behind teammate Tiernan. Daly finished the course in a time of 28:56. Junior Tim Flynn (Smithtown, N.Y./St. Anthony's) finished in third place, helping the Rams win the team championship.
