Hairston Wins Triple Jump at Monmouth Invitational

West Long Branch, N.J. - On a blustery cold day, the Farmingdale State men's and women's outdoor track team opened their season at the Monmouth Invitational, where senior Reuben Hairston won the Triple Jump with a jump of 13.05m (42' 9 3/4"). Reggie Routier, 12.98m (42' 7"), Chris Herbst, 12.86m (42' 2 1/4") and Qasim Ellis, 12.66m (41' 6 1/2") took the next three places for an unprecedented 1, 2, 3, 4 finish. The team added two ECAC qualifiers.

Akil Williams - High Jump, 2nd place, 1.82m (6')

Chris Herbst - 200m, 22.49, ECAC Qualifier

4x100m Relay - Naveed Mohammed, Azell Green, Reuben Hairston, Kensley Norian, 4th place, 43.54, ECAC Qualifier.

Alex Rubino - Discus, 39.49m (129' 7"), personal best

Women

Alexandra Smith - Long Jump, 9th place, 4.78m (15' 8 1/4")

4x100m Relay - Ali Smith, Shannon Degnan, Keisha Miller, Nicole Zarek, 8th place, 54.22.

The Rams will compete next at Richard Stockton on Friday, April 4th.
