Men's Outdoor Track and Field
![]() Head Coach: Arnold Minkoff
Coach Minkoff is in his second round of coaching at Farmingdale State.
After 12 successful years of high school coaching at Grover Cleveland
High School in Ridgewood Queens (Dual meet record 125-40), Coach Minkoff became the Head Coach at
Farmingdale Junior College from 1980-1989. The team obtained National
recognition placing 8th and 10th in the NJCAA Championships. His dual
meet record was 44-7 with 4 National Champions, 57 All-Americans, 5
Eastern Junior College Team Champions, 2 New York State Junior College
Team Champions and 15 Regional Junior College Team Champions. In 1983,
the 4x800m Indoor Relay set a National Junior College record of 7:39.47.
Assistant Coach: Frank McHugh
Since he was 14 years old, he has been involved in Track & Field. At St.
John's Prep, he was on the Penn Relay Championships 2-mile relay and
continued his running career at St. John's University. Frank's first
coaching position was at St. Augustine where he coached Joe Kearney,
who finished second in the National Championships. After leaving St.
Augustine, he moved to Elmont High School where he coached for over 30
years. During his tenure at Elmont, he coached 10 State Champions, 31
All-State athletes and 5 All-Americans.
Assistant Coach: Caryl Senn-Griffiths Coach Senn has been a volunteer coach at Farmingdale State from 1986 -
present. She is a former USA and Olympic Track Coach of the USA Amputee
Team where she coached for 15 years. International competitions she took
part in include, Barcelona, Spain; the Atlanta Olympic Games; the World
Championships in Berlin, Germany; the Pan American Games in Mexico City,
Mexico; and the Paralympic Revival in Duderstadt, Germany.
Assistant Coach: Patric Santiago
A 2006 Farmingdale State graduate, Patric will join the Track and Field
coaching staff for the 2006-07 seasons. He is also the only student-athlete
to ever compete in four sports in school history and was Captain of all
four sports during his career, including soccer, golf, indoor and outdoor
track.
Assistant Coach: Jim Seifert
Jim Seifert joins the team as an Assistant Coach for the 2006-07 season.
Jim is a former assistant coach at Farmingdale (1993) and returns with
a wealth of experience, locally and nationally. From 1992-1996, he
trained full-time and competed on the US National Team in the Discus
Throw. During two of those years, he had the longest throw in the US and
in 1993 had the 2nd longest throw in the World. He was a member of the
1996 Athens Olympic Centennial Games. In 1992, he won gold medals in 3
International Meets in Canada and Europe while competing on the US
National Team.
