Farmingdale, 16 Old Westbury, 4 Farmingdale, NY - The President's Cup is an annual competition between Old Westbury and Farmingdale State, both SUNY colleges, which was started by Athletic Director's Mike Harrington (Farmingdale) and John Lonardo (Old Westbury). This is a point-system competition, where the winning school of each athletic contest throughout the academic year (Sept-May) receives points towards the President's Cup Competition. A win is 2 points, Tie is 1 point and a Loss is 0 points. The inaugural year of the President's Cup competition was in 2002-2003 with Farmingdale winning the competition by just one point. The Rams then took the President's Cup in 2003-2004 and 2004-2005 by a score of 16-8. This year, Farmingdale won the Cup decidingly with a 16-4 decision, making it the fourth consecutive President's Cup win. The President's Cup is displayed in the Basketball showcase in the lobby of Nold Hall. |
