Softball Playoff Format Changed Due to Field Conditions at St. Joe's

Bellport, N.Y. - The 2008 Skyline Conference Softball Playoffs were postponed on Friday night, due to the field conditions at host site St. Joseph's Martha Avenue field in Bellport, N.Y. The Conference Champion, who will advance to the Division III NCAA Championship Tournament, needs to be decided by Sunday night, so the format of the playoffs has been revised in order to meet the deadline.

The playoffs, originally a double-elimination format, have been changed to single elimination and all three games will be played on Saturday, May 3rd.

Revised Schedule (all played on the Suffolk Selden campus)

Noon - #4 Mount Saint Mary vs. #1 St. Joseph's

2:30pm - #3 Polytechnic vs. #2 Farmingdale State

5:00pm - Winners play for Championship and automatic bid to NCAA'
