Softball![]() ![]() Softball Advances to ECAC Semifinals with First Round Win Farmingdale State - 11, Brooklyn College - 0
Farmingdale jumped ahead to a quick 4-0 lead after the first and scored two more in the second for a 6-0 edge. The Rams added five more runs in the third inning and it would be all they needed to come away with the shutout victory. Farmingdale State freshman Nicole Farber (Oakdale, N.Y./Connetquot) finished 1-for-4 with a triple and two runs batted in. Sophomore outfielder Kim Ferraiolo (Staten Island, N.Y./Tottenville) was 1-for-1 with two RBI's and freshman designated hitter Christi Lake (Ronkonkoma, N.Y./Faith Academy) was 2-for-2 with a double. Freshman pitcher Heather Buckshaw (Oakdale, N.Y./Connetquot) got the win as she pitched three no-hit innings and finished the game allowing no runs for her fourth shutout of the season, allowing just two hits and striking out eight. Buckshaw's record is now 17-5. The Rams will play the winner of today's Old Westbury/FDU-Florham game on Saturday, May 10th at Noon.
