Farmingdale, NY - The Farmingdale State softball team fell to 3-7 overall, 1-2 in the Skyline today with a 2-0 loss to visiting St. Joseph's College (5-3, 3-0 Skyline) in Farmingdale, NY. Junior pitcher Jennifer Martinez (Bay Shore, NY/Bellport) pitched all seven innings for the win, striking out 20 and allowing three hits. Sophomore pitcher Jaclyn Buckshaw (Oakdale, NY/Connetquot) also pitched a complete game, striking out three with five hits and one earned run.

The game was scoreless through five innings, before St. Joe's sophomore Michelle Nardella (Islip Terrace, NY/St. John the Baptist) reached on an error and was brought in to score with a double by Martinez. They added the insurance run in the seventh, scored by sophomore Sabina Wright (Huntington, NY/St. Dominic's) on a hit by senior Jackie DeGuido (Centereach, NY/Centerach).

Sophomore Erin Dodge (Plainedge, NY/Island Trees) finished 2-for-3 for the Rams, while senior Tiffany deBeaumont (Farmingdale, NY/Farmingdale) had a double in the third inning.

The Rams travel to Hackettstown, NJ this weekend for a conference doubleheader against Centenary College at noon.
