Old Westbury, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State softball team improved to 21-9, 8-2 in the Skyline Conference with two wins over SUNY rival Old Westbury (14-12, 4-8) today in Old Westbury, N.Y. Freshman Heather Buckshaw (Oakdale, N.Y./Connetquot) pitched an 11-4 victory in game one and freshman Nicole Farber (Oakdale, N.Y./Connetquot) pitched an 18-1 win in the second game.

Buckshaw struck out seven batters in the first game and Farber struck out five in the second. Farber led the team offensively today as she hit 4-for-6 with two homeruns, a double, five runs scored and eight runs batted in. Freshman shortstop Alexis Pennella (College Point, N.Y./St. John's Prep) hit 5-for-8 with two doubles, five RBI's and six runs scored. Junior outfielder Kristina Cirillo (Brentwood, N.Y./Brentwood) was 3-for-9 with five RBI's and three runs scored.

The Rams will now host Briarcliffe College on Monday, April 21st in a non-conference doubleheader at 3:30 p.m.
