- Farber named Player of the Week, Zino named Pitcher of the Week -

Clifton Park, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the second softball report for the 2010 season on Monday, March 22nd, including Player of the Week, Pitcher of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics. Junior Nicole Farber was named Player of the Week, sophomore Hope Zino was named Pitcher of the Week, and freshman Jennifer Jarczynski was named to the Honor Roll.

Junior shortstop Nicole Farber (Oakdale, N.Y./Connetquot) had a big offensive week last week, batting .727 (16-for-22) with five doubles, three home runs, 18 runs batted in and 12 runs scored in six games. Her top game was a 5-for-5 performance with two home runs and eight runs batted in against Daniel Webster. She had at least two runs batted in in five of the six games.

Sophomore pitcher Hope Zino (Bay Shore, N.Y./Bay Shore) tossed a pair of shutouts in two
starts last week. In 11.0 innings of work, Zino surrendered just six hits and one walk while striking out 12. She tossed a five-inning one-hitter against St. Joseph (Conn.) and a six-inning five-hitter against the University of New England.

Freshman catcher Jennifer Jarczynski (West Babylon, N.Y./West Babylon) batted .538 and had eight RBI’s and scored five runs this week. She went 3-for-4 with two doubles, four runs batted in and two runs scored in the doubleheader against Daniel Webster.
