Softball Sweeps Skyline Conference Weekly Awards

Lawrenceville, N.J. -The Farmingdale State
softball team swept the Skyline weekly awards after an impressive
4-0 week. Sophomore infielder/pitcher Nicole Farber (Oakdale,
N.Y./Connetquot) was named Skyline Conference Player of the Week,
freshman pitcher Hope Zino (Bay Shore, N.Y./Bay Shore) was named
Pitcher of the Week and freshman infielder Aubrey Walker (West
Babylon, N.Y./West Babylon) was named Rookie of the week on Monday,
April 6th.
Farber batted .562 (9-for-16) with three home runs, six runs
scored and five runs batted in for the Rams. Farber, who entered
the week ranked second in Division III in slugging percentage,
increased her conference-leading home run total to 10, with home
runs in three games. She also has a conference-leading 34 RBI.
Zino won both her starts last week to improve to 10-0 on her young
career. In 12 innings of work, Zino surrendered just six hits and
one unearned run, reducing her conference leading earned run
average to 1.02. She also struck out 16 batters while walking just
one, including nine strikeouts in a victory over Drew.
Walker earns Rookie of the Week honors, giving Farmingdale State
College a sweep of the weekly awards for the second time this
season. Walker batter .538 (7-for-13) with two doubles, a home run,
six runs batted in and five runs scored. She was 5-for-8 with five
RBI in a Skyline sweep of Mount Saint Vincent.
