Rams Sweep on Senior Day

Game 1: Farmingdale State - 8, Mount Saint Vincent - 0

Game 2: Farmingdale State - 12, Mount Saint Vincent - 3


Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State softball team swept conference opponent Mount Saint Vincent (8-22, 0-10) with 8-0 and 12-3 victories on Senior Day for outfielder Kaitlin Keenan (West Islip, N.Y.), outfielder Amanda Maass (Mastic Beach, N.Y.), outfielder Rebecca Richman (West Islip, N.Y.), first baseman Aubrey Walker (West Babylon, N.Y.) and pitcher Hope Zino (Bay Shore, N.Y.). These five have now seen the Rams (20-8, 8-2) to 120 wins in their careers with two Skyline Championships and an ECAC Championship.

In game one, Zino pitched a complete game shutout allowing just two hits and striking out seven to improve to 9-4 this season. Seniors Maass, Richman and Walker all had two hits, while Keenan finished with two RBI's.

In the second game, freshman pitcher Taylor Tedeschi (Levittown, N.Y.) got the win allowing just four hits while striking out four. Junior catcher Lauren Nelson (Levittown, N.Y.) was 2-for-3 with five RBI's. Junior second baseman Jennifer Jarczynski (West Babylon, N.Y.) and freshman centerfielder Sam Johrden (Deer Park, N.Y.) both went 3-for-3.

The Rams will now face Old Westbury in a Skyline doubleheader on Sunday, April 15th at 12:00 p.m.
