L. Collard Named Skyline Rookie of the Year as Five Rams Earn Softball All-Conference Honors

New York, N.Y. - In voting conducted by the league's nine head coaches, the Skyline Conference has released the 2018 Softball All-Conference Teams.

Farmingdale State freshman left fielder Lexie Collard (Deer Park, N.Y.) was named First Team All-Conference and Rookie of the Year, while junior pitcher Jaxie Collard (Deer Park, N.Y.) and freshman second baseman Amaris Negron (Central Islip, N.Y.) earned First Team honors. Sophomore first baseman Jessica Lombardo (Levittown, N.Y.) and junior shortstop Christina Rayfield (Commack, N.Y.) tallied Second Team All-Conference honors for FSC.

L. Collard hit .337 in 31 appearances and led FSC with 28 runs scored and was second in hits (34), home runs (2), RBI's (20) and total bases (49). In the conference, she ranked fourth in runs scored.

J. Collard pitched in 19 games this season and posted a 9-9 record with a 2.99 earned run average. She led the team in wins, earned run average, strikeouts (46), innings pitched (110.0), complete games (13) and starts (17). In the Skyline, ranked fourth in innings pitched, fifth in wins, and eighth for both earned run average and strikeouts.

Negron batted .355 in 25 games this season and led the Rams with a .565 slugging percentage. She finished with four doubles, three triples and one home run and ranked third on the team in runs scored (18), fourth in on-base percentage (.412) and fifth in both hits (22) and total bases (35). Negron ranked third in the conference in triples and seventh in slugging percentage.

Lombardo played in 33 games (32 starts) and led the team in batting average (.375), hits (36), doubles (8), RBI's (27), and total bases (54) and ranked second in runs scored (25), on-base percentage (.422), slugging percentage (.563), triples (2) and home runs (2). In the Skyline, she finished third in RBI's, fifth in hits and eighth in runs, doubles and slugging percentage.

Rayfield held a .440 on-base percentage as she led the team with 14 walks and tallied 26 hits. She also led the team in stolen bases and ranked second in doubles (6), third in both batting average (.338) and runs scored (18) and fourth in hits (26) and total bases (36). Rayfield finished seventh in the conference in walks and eighth for stolen bases.
