Farmingdale State Offers Sports Management Minor Starting Fall 2006

Farmingdale, NY - Beginning in the fall of 2006, Farmingdale State will be offering a Minor in Sports Management Technology. The minor consists of 16-21 credits of classes focusing on the business and technology aspects of the sports industry. Classes offered are: Intro to Sports Management, Athletics Administration, Nutrition and Sport, Facilities Management, Sports Marketing and Sports Law, along with skills classes in Golf, Racquetball, Volleyball and Weight Training.

The Sports Management Technology Minor provides students with formal educational and practical experiences in the field and prepares our graduates for a career in the sports industry at the professional, recreational or collegiate levels. Requirements to get into this program include above average skills in business and the technologies, as well as two units of defined Math and one unit of Laboratory Science.

For students who may not want to minor in this field, there is also a 14 credit Concentration.
