Rams Make Skyline Tournament in First Varsity Season

Farmingdale, N.Y. - In just their first year as a Varsity squad, the Farmingdale State women's tennis team made the Skyline Tournament after posting a 4-4 record during the regular season.

Two student-athletes receive All-Conference honors for their efforts throughout the year. Junior Oshea Davis (Hempstead, N.Y./Freeport) was named First Team All-Skyline and sophomore Kate McEntee (Greenwich, Conn./Pomfrett) was named Second Team All-Skyline.

Davis went 7-1 this year for the Rams at first singles. She also finished 3-4 at second doubles, 4-4 overall in doubles.

McEntee went undefeated at third singles (8-0), while also going 6-2 during the regular season in doubles with freshman teammate Jessica Gentile (Dix Hills, N.Y./St. Anthony's).

McEntee and Gentile finished the year 7-2 overall at first doubles, winning the only match in the Skyline Quarterfinals as the team fell to Bard College 5-1. Gentile finished the season with a 5-4 record at the teams #4 singles spot.

With all of the crew coming back, the Rams and Coach Waterhouse will look to set the bar high and carry their first year success into the 2008 season.
