The Rams fell to 6-3 overall after Montclair State’s Stephanie Machin (New Providence, NJ/New Providence) connected on a lay-up with nine seconds remaining to lift the Red Hawks to a 66-64 victory. Farmingdale led 32-22 at the half and throughout the second, before Montclair closed to within a point with 6:27 remaining and then again with 42 seconds to go.

Sharon Billips (Brooklyn, NY/John Jay) scored a game-high 14 points on the Rams side, with four other players in double figures. Angela Williams (New York, NY/Murry Bergtraum) finished with a double-double of 12 points and 13 rebounds. Taisha Roberts (Manhattan, NY/Murry Bergtraum) tallied 11 points and was perfect (6-6) at the free throw line. Kristen Tong (Swanzey, NH/Monadnock Regional) and Caress Lovelace (Brooklyn, NY/Benjamin Banneker) both chipped in 10 points.

Montclair was led by Machin's four points in the final minute of the game. She finished with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Michelle Madej (Morris Plains, NJ/Parsippany Hills) contributed 12 points, while Jessica Garrabrant (Denville, NJ/Morris Knolls) had 9 points and 13 rebounds.

The Rams return to action on Saturday at Wilkes University for a game at 4:00 p.m.
