The Farmingdale State women's basketball team is entering their third season in the Skyline Conference. Since becoming an NCAA Division III school in 2000, Coach Chris Mooney and the Rams have accumulated a record of 83-49, appearing in the NCAA Tournament once and the ECAC Tournament twice. The Rams have made it to the Conference Finals the first two years, losing both games to the College of Mount Saint Mary. This season, the Rams look to improve on last years 23-6 record and get another shot for the Skyline Championship and an automatic bid to the NCAA's.
The Rams have five returners on the roster, including seniors Kristen Tong and Angela Williams, junior Caress Lovelace and sophomore guards Dankery Perez and I'shawna West ('04-'05 Skyline Rookie of the Year). Senior Nicole Judkins returns to the court after a one-year hiatus, while transfers Melissa Harry, Mercedes Miller, Nicole Argent and Rochelle Clark will play their first season for Farmingdale. The roster is rounded out by a talented group of freshman in Carrie Lewis, Kamaya Miller, Shatequa Lyerly and Shaquasha Llopiz.
Farmingdale has their first game of the season on Friday, November 18th against FDU-Florham at 8pm in the NYU Tip-Off Tournament. The game will be played at NYU's Coles Sports and Recreation Center in New York City. The winner of this game will advance to the Championship game on Saturday, November 19th at 4pm, while the Consolation game will be held at 2pm.
