Farmingdale, NY - The King's Point women's basketball team defeated Farmingdale State tonight in a Skyline Conference match-up in Farmingdale, NY. The Rams led by nine points with 3:50 remaining before the Mariners full court pressure paid off. Sophomore May Marie Hayes (Pearland, TX/Pearland) scored five of her 11 points in the final minute of play, including the two game-winning free throws with two seconds left, to lead the Mariners in the 69-67 comeback victory.

Junior Andrea Carey (Lewes, DE/Cape Henlopen) and senior Morgan Gartner (Houston, TX/Kingwood) both led Kings Point with 14 points. Freshman Hannah Eko (La Hara, CA/Sonoara) finished with 10 points and eight rebounds.

Farmingdale sophomore Mercedes Miller (New York, NY/Manhattan Center) tallied game-highs of 15 points and nine rebounds in just 21 minutes of play. Senior Kristen Tong (Swanzey, NH/Monadnock Reg.) scored 13 points, while junior Kendra Romain (Brooklyn, NY/Martin Luther King) totaled nine points, eight boards, three assists and three steals.

The Rams travel to Newburgh, NY on Saturday, January 14th to face Mount Saint Mary College in another Skyline Conference game at 2:00pm.
