Farmingdale, NY Farmingdale State picked up their second win of the season against Old Westbury tonight with a 60-49 conference victory in Farmingdale, NY. Sophomore I'shawna West (Hempstead, NY/Hempstead) led the Rams with 18 points, while senior Angela Williams (New York, NY/Murry Bergtraum) was strong on the boards with nine rebounds and four blocks. The Rams improved to 9-8, 5-3 Skyline while the Panthers fell to 10-8, 4-5.
Sophomore Dankery Perez (New York, NY/Manhattan Center) finished with 11 points for Farmingdale State. Senior Kristen Tong (Swanzey, NH/Monadnock Reg.) totaled 10 points and three assists and junior Rochelle Clark (Bellport, NY/Bellport) tallied game-highs of six steals and four assists.
Old Westbury junior Danna Purnell (Deer Park, NY/Deer Park) led the team with a game-high 21 points, including 11-of-12 from the free throw line. Sophomore Monique Midy (Westbury, NY/Westbury) finished with 17 points and nine boards, while junior Janera Johnson (Richmond Hill, NY/Hillcrest) grabbed 12 rebounds.
