Farmingdale, N.Y. – The Farmingdale State women's basketball team improved to 12-4, 8-2 in the Skyline with an 81-53 victory over Old Westbury (10-6, 4-5) in Old Westbury, NY. The Rams had four players in double figures as junior center Mercedes Miller (New York, NY/Manhattan Center) led the team with 17 points and nine rebounds.
Farmingdale opened up a 15-point lead in the first and continued the pace in the second, holding Old Westbury to just 28-percent shooting from the field. Junior guard Christine Daley (Elmont, NY/Elmont) finished with 15 points and junior guard Dankery Perez (New York, NY/Manhattan Center) totaled 11 points and 11 assists.
Senior guard Rochelle Clark (Bellport, NY/Bellport) added 10 points and seven steals for the Rams, while freshman guard Kimberly Blakney (Brooklyn, NY/Benjamin Banneker) had eight steals and eight points.
Farmingdale State will travel to Newburgh, NY on Saturday, January 27th for a conference game against Mount Saint Mary College at 2:00pm.
