Clark's All-Around Play Leads the Rams into the Semifinals

Farmingdale, N.Y. The third seeded Rams improved to 18-6 overall with a 76-68 victory over visiting #6-seed Centenary College (12-13) in tonight's Skyline Conference women's basketball quarterfinal round in Farmingdale, N.Y. Farmingdale advances to face the #2 seed Stevens in the Semifinals on Thursday night, February 22nd in Hoboken, N.J.

Early in the second, the Rams brought their nine point halftime lead up to 13 points, before the Cyclones went on a 17-2 run in just four minutes to take a two point lead, 50-48. The lead changed hands twice more, before Farmingdale senior Rochelle Clark (Bellport, N.Y./Bellport) knocked down a three-pointer with 6:55 remaining to give the Rams a three-point cushion and the momentum over the final minutes.

Clark nearly posted a triple-double with 11 points, nine assists and eight rebounds in her final home game for Farmingdale State. Junior forward Jasmine Sistrunk (Brooklyn, N.Y./South Shore) finished with a double-double of 16 points and 11 rebounds. Freshman guard Kimberly Blakney (Brooklyn, N.Y./Benjamin Banneker) posted 21 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Junior center Mercedes Miller (New York, N.Y./Manhattan Center) scored 11 points and grabbed eight boards.

Centenary's junior guard Stephanie Roberts (Bakersfield, Calif./South) totaled game-highs of 22 points and 13 rebounds. Junior guard Jessa Jones (South Plainfield, N.J./South Plainfield) had 14 points and 12 rebounds.

Thursday night's game is set for a 6:00 p.m. start. The winner advances to the Skyline Conference Finals on Saturday, February 24th to be played at the highest seed.
