Farmingdale State - 81, Mount Saint Vincent - 66
Riverdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's basketball team had five players in double-figures on Saturday afternoon and defeated the College of Mount Saint Vincent 81-66 to improve to 4-2, 2-0 in the Skyline Conference. Senior guard Dankery Perez (New York, N.Y./Manhattan Center) recorded a career-high 14 assists and 15 points, while senior center Mercedes Miller (New York, N.Y./Manhattan Center) finished with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Mount Saint Vincent fell to 2-2, 0-1 in the conference with the loss.
Also in double digits were seniors Christine Daley (Elmont, N.Y./Elmont) with 14 points and Jasmine Sistrunk (Brooklyn, N.Y./Southshore) with 13 points. Sophomore forward Gabrielle Green (North Babylon, N.Y./North Babylon) finished with 10 points. Sophomore guard Kimberly Blakney (Brooklyn, N.Y./Benjamin Banneker) scored nine points and also had a game-high six steals.
The Rams will return to action on Tuesday night in a home double-header against Skyline opponent Purchase College. The women's game is at 6:00 p.m., followed by the men's game at 8:00 p.m.
