Annandale-on-Hudson, N.Y. - Senior forward Jasmine Sistrunk (Brooklyn, N.Y./Southshore) posted career highs of 21 points and 14 rebounds for Farmingdale State on Tuesday night. The Rams led 38-22 at the half and poured in 49 points in the second for a convincing 87-51 victory over Skyline Conference opponent Bard College (5-3, 1-3). The win improves Farmingdale's record to 7-3 overall and a perfect 5-0 in the Skyline.
With Sistrunk leading the way, the Rams had three other players in double digits. Senior center Mercedes Miller (New York, N.Y./Manhattan Center) went 7-of-9 from the floor with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Senior guard Christine Daley (Elmont, N.Y./Elmont) had 14 points, shooting four of eight from behind the arc. Freshman guard Janel Monah (Westbury, N.Y./Westbury) finished with a career-high 11 points. Sophomore guard Kamaya Miller (Brooklyn, N.Y./Midwood) played well posting eight points, seven steals and six rebounds.
Bard's Blaire Moldenhauer led the team in defeat with 20 points and 12 rebounds, while Latiqua Williams grabbed 13 rebounds.
Farmingdale State will travel to Brooklyn on Thursday night for a conference double-header with the men's team against Polytechnic University. The women play at 6:00 p.m. and the men's game follows at 8:00 p.m.
