Farmingdale State - 90, St. Joseph's - 71

 


Farmingdale, N.Y. – After holding just a three point lead at halftime, Farmingdale State (10-3, 8-0) broke away to score 50 points in the second half and take the eventual 90-71 victory over St. Joseph’s (6-8, 4-3) tonight in Skyline women’s basketball action in Farmingdale, N.Y.

The Rams had four players in double figures, with sophomore guard Kimberly Blakney (Brooklyn, N.Y./Benjamin Banneker) leading the pack with 20 points. Senior guard Christine Daley (Elmont, N.Y./Elmont) scored 18 points and senior forward Jasmine Sistrunk (Brooklyn, N.Y./South Shore) scored 10 points. Senior guard Dankery Perez (New York, N.Y./Manhattan Center) finished with nine assists for the night, along with 12 points.

For St. Joe’s, sophomore forward Dana Carney (Patchogue, N.Y./Patchogue-Medford) had 21 points and six rebounds, while sophomore guard Carissa Pirotta (East Northport, N.Y./Northport) finished with 21 points.

The Rams will now host Mount Saint Mary College on Saturday, January 19th at 2:00 p.m., to break the tie for first place in the Skyline Conference.
