Farmingdale, N.Y. – Senior center Mercedes Miller (New York, N.Y./Manhattan Center) scored her 1,000th point tonight, hitting a rare three-point shot with 4:18 remaining in the game to set her career total at 1,001 points over the past three seasons with Farmingdale State (16-4, 14-1). Miller finished the night with a team-high 17 points as the Rams rolled to an 89-44 victory over Bard College (10-12, 4-11) in tonight’s Skyline Conference women’s basketball game.
It was senior night for Miller and four other Farmingdale student-athletes tonight. Senior guard Christine Daley (Elmont, N.Y./Elmont) had 15 points, senior forward Caress Lovelace (Brooklyn, N.Y./Benjamin Banneker) grabbed nine boards and scored five points, senior forward Jasmine Sistrunk (Brooklyn, N.Y./South Shore) grabbed seven rebounds and posted five points, and senior guard Dankery Perez (New York, N.Y./Manhattan Center) had six assists to push her career assist total to 511.
Bard freshman forward Blaire Moldenhauer (Albany, Mo./Albany) registered the games only double-double with 27 points and 11 rebounds, along with five assists.
The Rams will travel to Mount Saint Mary College on Saturday, February 16th for a first place showdown with the Blue Knights starting at 2:00 p.m. Both teams have one conference loss and are tied for first place in the Skyline.
