Newburgh, N.Y. - The Rams dropped to 16-5, 14-2 in the Skyline today after a 63-52 conference loss to Mount Saint Mary College (21-2, 15-1) in women's basketball action in Newburgh, N.Y. Farmingdale State sophomore guard Kimberly Blakney (Brooklyn, N.Y./Benjamin Banneker) scored a game-high 20 points, but the Rams could not make the comeback from a seven-point halftime deficit, losing just their second conference game of the season.
The Rams trailed 32-10 early in the first and were able to bring the score up to 32-25 at the half, but could not hold off the Blue Knights in the second.
Sophomore guard Tiffara Steward (Elmont, N.Y./Sewanhaka) finished the game with 14 points for Farmingdale State. Senior guard Dankery Perez (New York, N.Y./Manhattan Center) finished with five assists.
Mount Saint Mary had four players in double figures and two players with double-doubles.
The Rams will now face St. Joseph's College in Patchogue, N.Y. in a Skyline Conference double-header with the men's team, beginning at 6:00 p.m.
