Rams Picked as Four Seed for ECAC Metro Championship
CAPE COD, Mass. - Farmingdale State (19-6) was chosen as the number four seed in the 2008 ECAC Metro Women's Basketball Championship. After finishing the regular-season with a 17-10 record, Montclair State University was selected as the number one seed. The tournament is an eight-team field with quarterfinal, semifinal and championship rounds. In the first round contests on Wednesday, March 5, Montclair State University (17-10) will host No. 8 College of Mount Saint Vincent (21-6) at 7:30 p.m. while the second seed Rutgers-Newark (19-7) will face No. 7 College of Staten Island (20-7) at 7:00 p.m. at Rutgers-Newark. Rams Fall in Skyline Finals; Mount Saint Mary Wins Ninth Straight Championship

Sophomore guard Kimberly Blakney (Brooklyn, N.Y./Benjamin Banneker) was named to the Skyline Conference Player of the Week Honor Roll for women's basketball on Monday, February 11th. Blakney averaged a team-high 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 steals in a 2-0 week for the Rams in just 19 minutes per game. She scored 14 points against Poly and added 16 more against Russell Sage, while shooting .667 from the field. Sophomore guard Kimberly Blakney (Brooklyn, N.Y./Benjamin Banneker) was named to the Skyline Conference Player of the Week Honor Roll for women's basketball on Monday, December 17th. Blakney moved past the 500 career point mark on Saturday afternoon as she scored 25 points in a double overtime loss to Rutgers-Newark. She now holds 509 points and 109 steals to date, early in her sophomore season.
