Shemique Hooks Named Skyline Rookie of the Week

- Rookie guard averages 17 points and 9 rebounds -

Lawrenceville, N.J. - Freshman guard Shemique Hooks (Westbury, N.Y./Westbury) was named the Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week for women's basketball on Monday, November 24th.

Hooks had a solid debut for Farmingdale State as she averaged 17.0 points, 9.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 3.0 steals in two games at the New Paltz Hawk Invitational. In her first collegiate game, Hooks had 19 points, eight rebounds, four assists and five steals in a 70-68 overtime loss to William Smith. She then recorded her first career double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds versus Wheaton (Mass.).
