Tiffara graduated from Sewanhaka High School in June 2006, where she was named All-Division, All-Conference and Athlete of the Year.

Recipient of the Women's Sports Foundations Wilma Rudolph Courage Award, and The V Foundation's 2009 Jimmy V Comeback Award.
