- Kimberly Blakney named Player of the Week
Clifton Park, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference
released the second Women's Basketball report for the 2009-10
season this afternoon, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the
Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics.
Senior guard Kimberly Blakney (Brooklyn, N.Y./Benjamin Banneker)
was named Skyline Conference Player of the Week for women's
basketball. Blakney averaged 24.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and 9.5
steals per game, leading Farmingdale State to a victory at New
Paltz Tip-Off Tournament this week. She had 24 points, eight
rebounds and seven steals in the season opening victory against
York (N.Y.). In the championship game against New Paltz, Blakney
had 25 points, six rebounds and a school-record 12 steals in the
69-63 win. She bested the record of 11 steals held by Rochelle
Clark set back in 2006.
