2010-11 Farmingdale State Women's Basketball Preview
- Rams Tip-Off vs. Yeshiva on Wednesday Night -
Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's basketball team returns for the 2010-11 campaign to defend their first-ever Conference Championship. The Rams, who finished 25-2 overall and 17-1 in the Skyline, will have their hands full after losing four seniors to graduation, including Kimberly Blakney, who was the Division III National leader in Scoring and Steals for the past two seasons. Farmingdale has one returning senior, guard Janel Monah (Westbury H.S.), who averaged 16 minutes per game last season. Sophomore guard Jeanette Zubizaretta (Calhoun H.S.) will play a big part this season as the teams' top three-point shooter (.300), after finishing second on the team behind Blakney last year. Junior guard Shemique Hooks (Westbury H.S.) will see more court time, as well as last year's mid-season additions, junior guard Kayla Koch (Kings Park H.S.) and sophomore guard Nikita Green (Roosevelt H.S.). Junior forward Natasha Smalls (St. Michael Academy), a transfer from Monroe C.C., will add some size in the middle, standing at 6'1".
