Casey and Ward Earn Women's Basketball All-Conference Honors

New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference's 10 women's basketball coaches have voted for the 2017-18 all-conference team and Farmingdale State had two honorees. Senior forward Essence Casey (Huntington Station, N.Y.) was named to the First Team, while senior guard Kaelyn Ward (East Hampton, N.Y.) earned Second Team honors.

Casey appeared in every game, while starting 26 and was the FSC leader in both scoring (15.1 ppg) and rebounding (8.5 rpg), ranked second in field goal percentage (.357), assists (83) and blocks (19) and was third for steals (64) and 3-point field goal percentage (.276). She was second in the conference for assist/turnover ratio (1.1), eighth in scoring, ninth in rebounding, 11th for field goal percentage and 12th in assists per game (3.1). Casey was tabbed Skyline Player of the Week once during the regular season.

Ward started all 27 games for Farmingdale State and led the team in field goal percentage (.396), blocks (23) and steals (81) and was second in scoring (14.7 ppg), rebounding (7.9) and 3-point field goal percentage (.290). In the Skyline, she was third in steals per game (3.0), eighth for both made 3's per game (1.7) and field goal percentage, ninth for scoring and 11th in blocks. During the regular season, Ward was named Skyline Conference Player of the Week once.
