Women's Lacrosse End of Season Report
May 10, 2005

The women’s lacrosse program finished their inaugural season on a high-note, defeating Briarcliffe College 14-11 in their final game. Junior Natalie Budinich (Commack, NY/Commack) and freshman Tina Tomasello (Melville, NY/Hills East) led the offense throughout the season. In seven games, Budinich scored 35 goals and Tomasello finished with 13. Freshmen Jenn Ryan (Farmingdale, NY/Farmingdale) and Patricia Smirniotis (Deer Park, NY/Deer Park) held the defense together, leading the team in caused turnovers.

Freshman Andrea MacIntyre (Mount Sinai, NY/Mount Sinai) had a great year in goal for coach Christie Ruppert. In her first year as a goalkeeper, Dre had an astounding 28 save effort against Harford Community College during the teams overnight trip to Maryland. She averaged 15.6 saves per game and received many post-game compliments from officials and opposing coaches.

Farmingdale competed as a club team this year and will compete as a Division III varsity program beginning next year. The future looks bright as the team will return 10 players along with a strong nucleus of freshman and transfers.
