Rams Surge Falls Short against Dolphins

The Farmingdale State women's lacrosse team fell to 2-5, 1-3 in the Skyline after a loss against conference opponent Mount Saint Vincent (5-6, 2-1) on Monday afternoon at Columbia University in Manhattan, NY. The Rams started off slow trailing 9-2 at the half, but a scoring burst in the beginning of the second half set the scoreboard to 11-7 with 16 minutes to go. The Dolphins retaliated with seven straight goals before Farmingdale State freshman attacker Theresa Rokee (Lindenhurst, NY/Lindenhurst) finished off the scoring for the final score of 18-8.

Rokee led the Rams with three goals and one assist, while junior Gina Shore (Holbrook, NY/Sachem) and freshman attacker Jessica Kramer (Lindenhurst, NY/Lindenhurst) tallied two goals apiece. Sophomore attacker Lisa Gagliardo (Dix Hills, NY/Holy Trinity) notched her second goal of the season off a fast break pass from freshman midfielder Sam Bidermann (Merrick, NY/Mepham). Sophomore goalie Janine Forman (North Massapequa, NY/Plainedge) finished the day in net with 18 saves on 36 shots on goal.

Farmingdale State meets Molloy College on Wednesday, April 12th for an away game at 7:00pm, before traveling to Williamsport, Pennsylvania for a 4:00pm game against Lycoming College on Thursday, April 13th.
