Dowling Takes 18-7 Victory over Rams

Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's lacrosse team fell to 1-2 overall with an 18-7 loss to Division II Dowling College (2-0) today in Farmingdale, N.Y. The Rams trailed 7-4 at the half, but the Golden Lions scored 11 goals in the second to take the victory.

Dowling was led by sophomore Vanessa Moreira (Selden, N.Y.) with six goals, followed by freshman Kelly Cefalu (East Islip, N.Y.) with four goals and one assist and freshman Pamela McGirr (Copiague, N.Y.) with four goals. Freshman goalkeeper Rachel Goldstein (Ridge, N.Y.) finished with 14 saves.

Farmingdale State senior goalkeeper Janine Forman (Massapequa, N.Y./Plainedge) made 16 saves in defeat on 40 shots faced.

The Rams will host Southern Maine on Wednesday, March 26th at 4:00 p.m.
