Brockport and Vassar Advance to ECAC Upstate/Metro Finals

Farmingdale, N.Y. ? Top-seeded SUNY Brockport (13-4) and #2 seed Vassar (11-5) advanced to the ECAC Upstate/Metro Finals today with wins over Farmingdale State (7-7) and the College of Mount Saint Vincent (9-8).

Brockport faced Farmingdale in the opening game of the day, winning 18-5 over the Rams. Brockport sophomore Julia Decker (Penn Yan, N.Y./Penn Yan) led the team with five goals and sophomore Kim Morris (Clay, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) had three goals and three assists. For Farmingdale, sophomore Theresa Rokee (Lindenhurst, N.Y./Lindenhurst) had a hat trick, while senior Natalie Budinich (East Northport, N.Y./Commack) finished with two goals and one assist. Junior goalkeeper Janine Forman (North Massapequa, N.Y./Plainedge) made 17 saves in defeat.

In the second game of the day Vassar defeated Mount Saint Vincent 18-9. Vassar senior Ali Fantl (West Hartford, Conn./Hall) finished with nine goals and two assists, while junior Christine Castellan (Media, Pa./Penncrest High) had three goals and one assist. Mount Saint Vincent's Chanel Comis (Durham, N.C./Cardinal Gibbons) led the Dolphins with three assists.

The Championship game will take place at Farmingdale State on Sunday, May 13th at 1:00 p.m.
