Farmingdale State - 2, Mount Saint Vincent - 0

Farmingdale, N.Y. - Sophomore forward Christina Cascio (Kings Park, N.Y./Kings Park) contributed on both goals in a 2-0 victory over Skyline Conference opponent Mount Saint Vincent (5-8, 2-4 Skyline) today in Farmingdale, N.Y. With the win, Farmingdale State remained unbeaten in the conference with a 7-0 record, 11-5 overall.

After 16 minutes of play, sophomore forward Kristine Ostrem (West Islip, N.Y./West Islip) put a pass across the middle from Cascio in the back of the net. On the second goal for the Rams, Cascio decided to finish it off herself, taking advantage of a shot off the crossbar by sophomore midfielder Amanda Biondi (West Islip, N.Y./West Islip) with 27 minutes to play.

Dolphins’ senior goalkeeper Alexis Alessi (Rockville Centre, N.Y./Oceanside) kept the scoring close, making 14 saves in net. Sophomore goalkeeper Kimberly Sontag (Lynbrook, N.Y./Lynbrook) got the shutout win for Farmingdale State. The Rams kept the pressure on throughout the game as Mount Saint Vincent was out-shot, 30-0.

Farmingdale State will travel to Cortland State on Tuesday, October 23 for a 3:00 p.m. non-conference game. The Rams next Skyline Conference game is on Wednesday, October 24th at 8:00 p.m. as they play host to Polytechnic University. The match-up will be played under the lights at Tanner Park in Copiague, N.Y. as they look to break a Skyline Conference record for most conference wins in a season.
