Rams Drop Non-Conference Game at NYU
New York University - 3, Farmingdale State - 1
Riverdale, N.Y. – Farmingdale State was defeated by New York University, 3-0, in a non-conference women’s soccer game in Riverdale, N.Y. this afternoon.
NYU forward Rebecca Assing scored the games opening goal on a header at the 10:35 mark, giving the Violets the 1-0 lead. Lucy Dolly Caires would increase their lead with an assisted goal seventeen minutes later. NYU would take a 2-0 lead into halftime.
Filiz Kipcakli scored 2:27 into the second half for the Violets, Laura Palumbo recorded the assist, her second of the afternoon. The Rams were held to only three shots, one on goal.
Freshman goalkeeper Amanda Maass (Mastic Beach, NY / Williams Floyd) recorded eleven saves in the loss for Farmingdale; Alex Walters had one save for NYU.
The Rams next will host Old Westbury in a Skyline Conference game on Saturday, October 1st at 4:00 p.m
